Our Programs

The BOSSI team works in close collaboration with the Central Women’s Regional Office and government partners to shape and deliver development programs that are rooted in local leadership and informed by global best practices.

Each initiative is designed to respond to the real needs of our communities – empowering women, supporting youth, and fostering sustainable growth across agriculture, aquaculture, and enterprise.

2025 / 2026 Programs

Programs are coming.

We’re co-designing initiatives with Bougainville communities.

During the current election period, we’re focused on listening and groundwork. We’ll share updates as soon as formal engagement resumes.

Timeframes and locations will be confirmed after community consultation and governance approvals.

Sea moss production program

Empowering Coastal Communities Through Sustainable Aquaculture.

Our Sea Moss Production Program supports farmers and women in coastal communities to cultivate, harvest, and process high-quality sea moss for local use and export.

By providing training, equipment, and cooperative structures, this initiative offers a low-barrier, high-impact income stream for cooperative members while promoting marine ecosystem stewardship and nutritional health.

Cocoa production program

Reviving Local Cocoa for Global Markets.

The Cocoa Production Program enhances smallholder productivity and cooperative marketing by improving access to quality planting materials, fermentation techniques, and value-added drying and processing.

In partnership with government and export partners, BOSSI is helping farmers, women and youth producers reclaim the Pacific’s reputation for premium cocoa – connecting them to ethical and international markets while boosting economic independence.

Poultry & livestock micro-enterprises

Support small-scale poultry and livestock production for family nutrition and income generation, with a focus on youth-led cooperatives and backyard farming models.

Organic tapioca crops

Establish and support networks of organic gardens that promote food security, soil health, and peer-led training in regenerative practices.

Small business start-up program

Skills, Materials and Support.

BOSSI delivers hands-on training in practical, income-generating skills such as baking, tailoring, and other home-based trades through local workshops and cooperatives.

For member cooperatives, and as resources allow, we also offer access to materials, equipment, and financial literacy support to help members establish and grow small enterprises.

The program builds confidence, strengthens women-led business initiatives, and supports local knowledge through practical, community-driven learning.

Youth skills enterprise incubation bossi

Delivers entrepreneurship training, mentoring, and start-up support for young people with business ideas in sustainable farming, eco-tourism, or digital services.
